Accounting Manager

Essential Functions: Perform cost accounting and costing analysis, including review of inventory costs, cost of goods sold, and related accounting entries; investigate variances and recommend corrective action as appropriate. Prepare and analyze product, customer, channel, and/or other profitability reports to help management understand margins, business performance, and opportunities to improve profitability. Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and review of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Assist with budget-to-actual and other financial analyses; help explain material variances and provide clear, actionable insights to the leadership team. Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, using historical results and business drivers to develop reliable financial information. Develop and maintain reports, metrics, and analytical tools that improve visibility into costs, margins, profitability, and overall financial performance. Help identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, data integrity, and reporting efficiency; recommend and help implement improvements. Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and eCommerce, to understand financial results, validate assumptions, and support business decisions. Use ERP and related business systems to research transactions, validate financial data, and improve reporting. Experience with Sellercloud is a plus. Lead and manage the accounting team, including setting priorities, assigning work, reviewing deliverables, coaching and developing employees, establishing accountability, and ensuring timely, accurate completion of accounting responsibilities. Assist with year-end audit and tax preparation by coordinating schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to requests from external accounting partners. Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for financial reports, account reconciliations, inventory/costing analysis, and other accounting activities. Respond to requests from the executive team with timely, accurate financial information and special analyses. Communicate financial findings clearly and professionally to both accounting and non-accounting colleagues, including explaining complex data in a practical, understandable manner. This position works primarily in an office environment and requires the ability to sit or stand at a desk or computer workstation and use a computer monitor for extended periods during the workday.
