Warehouse Team Lead

GXO Logistics is hiring a Lead for 1st Shift in our transportation and warehousing operation. In this role, you will coordinate daily warehouse activities, assign work, and guide a small team to meet productivity, safety and quality targets. You will monitor inbound and outbound flows, verify documentation, and resolve issues quickly to keep freight moving. Partnering with supervisors, you’ll track KPIs, use warehouse systems and scanners, and support training and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role on the floor that requires strong communication, reliability, and a commitment to safety and service for global customers. Lead and coordinate daily 1st shift warehouse operations and workflows Assign tasks and provide direction to team members on the floor Monitor inbound and outbound freight, documentation, and inventory movements Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards Use warehouse management systems and scanners to track work and inventory Support training, coaching, and onboarding of team members Track and report key performance indicators for the shift Identify and communicate process issues or bottlenecks to supervisors Assist with problem resolution for orders, shipments, and customer requirements Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Inventory control RF scanner operation Basic data entry and reporting Understanding of OSHA safety practices Shipping and receiving procedures Load planning and dock operations Cycle counting Microsoft Excel and basic PC proficiency Team leadership and shift coordination Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k OSHA forklift certification or ability to obtain Familiarity with warehouse safety standards (OSHA) Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Basic knowledge of RF scanners and inventory control processes
