Location: Walker, MI
Shift: 1st shift Monday- Thursday
Pay:
$17.25 Are you a skilled and quality-focused manufacturing professional looking for your next opportunity? We’re seeking a Stamping Press Operator to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating stamping presses, supporting die set-ups, and ensuring parts meet all quality and customer requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Operate stamping presses from last-piece approval through first-piece approval
- Assist with die changes, press setups, and equipment setup following established work instructions
- Verify the correct material is loaded onto coil carts and properly fed into production equipment
- Ensure adequate dunnage and packaging materials are available for production requirements
- Perform first-piece, last-piece, and in-process quality inspections at required intervals
- Verify gauges are properly certified and suitable for inspection activities
- Accurately record and report production quantities in the AX system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards
- Communicate die readiness, tooling concerns, and repair needs to the Tooling Department
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures to support efficient operations
What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Three to five years of stamping press or related manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hi-Lo (forklift) license preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate equipment, assist with die setups, and troubleshoot production issues.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, accurate inspections, and production documentation.
Effective communication skills with the ability to follow work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures.
