Job Title: Laboratory Technician – Microbiology
Location: Vernon Hills, IL, USA – 60061
Contract Type: 12 months (W2) - On-site
Pay Rate: Up to $29.13/hrKey Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory maintenance and propagate bacterial cultures. Prepare laboratory media and reagents for routine laboratory operations. Label laboratory plates and tubes accurately and restock laboratory supplies as needed. Maintain inventory and ensure adequate availability of laboratory media, reagents, and consumables. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), scientific methods, and quality guidelines. Assist in the qualification, validation, and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments. Maintain laboratory notebooks and ensure all documentation complies with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Support day-to-day laboratory activities and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements:
EducationBachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
Experience1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Candidates with 0–4 years of overall experience may be considered, depending on their qualifications and laboratory background.
Technical Background:
Hands-on experience in laboratory operations and maintenance.
Knowledge of bacterial culture propagation and preparation of laboratory media and reagents.
Understanding of laboratory inventory management and quality procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with GDP guidelines.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment qualification, validation, and calibration is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and quality guidelines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established laboratory procedures.
