Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to students experiencing illness, injury, or chronic medical conditions within the school setting.
Conduct health assessments, triage, and student evaluations.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
Develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), emergency care plans, and health documentation.
Support students with chronic health conditions including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, severe allergies, and other medical needs.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, special education teams, and healthcare providers to ensure student success.
Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings when appropriate.
Monitor immunization compliance and maintain accurate student health records.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
Promote student wellness through health education, prevention, and advocacy.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
Preferred Experience:- School nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- Medical-surgical, hematology, oncology, community health, or public health experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and chronic health conditions preferred.
