Job Description:
Job Description About UsLook, we're not just another lawn company. The Grounds Guys of NW Austin is part of the Neighborly family of brands, and we take the work seriously. Professional crews, professional equipment, and we stand behind every single job with the Neighborly Done Right Promise. Here's what makes this different: we launched early March 2026 and business is booming! Brand new franchise location. That means you won't be joining some crew that's already set in their ways. You'd be part of the founding team. First ones in. And as we grow in the NW Austin market, the people who were here from day one get first shot at leadership roles.
Is This You? We need people who actually care about the work, not just clock in and zone out.
- You genuinely like helping people. Your crew, customers, the community.
- When a customer has an issue, you don't get defensive. You see it as a chance to make them a fan.
- Communication matters to you. You speak up, follow through, and get it done.
- Being outside all day? That's a feature, not a bug. You like physical work.
- You're reliable. Period. You show up when you say you will.
- You're comfortable talking to customers on site. If you notice their hedges need shaping or their flower beds could use some attention, you're the kind of person who'd mention it naturally, not as a hard sell, but because you see it and you know we can help.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a big plus. Not required, but it goes a long way in the NW Austin market. If that sounds like you, keep reading. What You'll Actually DoThe day-to-day: You're out in the field. Mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, weeding, pruning, bed work. The full scope of lawn and landscape maintenance. Quality has to be high on every single property. This is physical work. You're outside in the heat, the cold, the rain. You'll need to carry 35-80 lbs regularly. Not for everyone, but if you thrive in that kind of environment, you already know it. At the end of every day, equipment gets cleaned up and prepped for tomorrow. That's non-negotiable. You'll be running professional-grade Exmark mowers and commercial tools, and we keep them right. On the customer side: You're wearing the TGG uniform, driving a branded truck, and representing the company on every property. If a customer has a question or concern, handle it professionally and loop in your Crew Leader. Simple stuff, but it matters. As we build out the route schedule, there will also be some neighborhood canvassing and door hanger distribution before and after jobs. It's part of growing a new location, and every crew member plays a role in that. How We Know It's Working
- Show up. Attendance is everything in a service business. Can't take care of customers if you're not there.
- Stay on time. Every job has a budget. Hit it. Keeping jobs profitable means managing your hours.
- Do it right the first time. We track return rates. Going back to redo work kills the schedule and costs money. Quality control is on you.
- Keep customers coming back. Retention is how we grow. Great work + solid relationships = repeat business.
- Spot opportunities. You're on the property every week. If you see additional work the customer could benefit from, flag it. That's how we grow accounts and keep customers happy.
Requirements:- Prior experience with mowing, trimming, edging, and general landscape maintenance is required. You don't need 10 years, but you need to know your way around a commercial mower and not be learning the basics on the job. 1-3 years of professional lawn care/landscape experience required.
- Clean driving record and current Texas driver's license required.
- Reliable way to get to the staging area each morning.
- Background check required.
- Must be good working in Texas heat, cold snaps, and the occasional downpour. It comes with the territory.
Pay & Benefits:
$18-$20/hr based on experience. Already been running a crew or have years of lead experience? Don't let the posted range stop you, just apply and let's talk.
- Paid training. We'll get you up to speed on our systems and processes properly. No sink-or-swim.
- All equipment and uniforms provided. Exmark mowers, commercial tools, PPE, branded uniforms. Safety toe boots are required on every job site, and we'll provide a gift card for up to $100 toward that purchase.
- Room to grow. This is a founding crew position. As we add routes, we'll need Crew Leaders and supervisors. The people who prove themselves early will move up first.
Why This Gig?
Most lawn care companies run you 5-6 days a week, hand you beat-up equipment, and there's no path forward. We're doing it differently.
Brand new Exmark equipment. Real growth path into leadership. And you'd be building something from scratch with us, not just filling a slot.
We're part of the Neighborly network (5,000+ franchise locations), so you're backed by a national brand while working for a local owner who gives a damn.
The Grounds Guys of Northwest Austin is independently owned and operated. Employment terms, benefits, and compensation are determined by this franchise location.
Equal Opportunity Employer.
