The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a Satellite Communications Technician to support and maintain DoD and commercial SATCOM systems, including modems, baseband gear, and backup power systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate / Maintain various DoD and commercial satellite communications systems, modems and baseband equipment
Perform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment
Troubleshoot and repair communications system faults
Prepare written reports as required
Utilize electronic test equipment to troubleshoot serial and IP circuits
Operate power backup systems including diesel generators and UPS
Escort visitors as required
Perform duties while standing and walking for extended periods
Climb and work safely at various heights on antenna structures
Operate effectively in outdoor environments, including inclement weather and confined spaces
Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as required.

Requirements: Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance with the US Government
Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving history
Education
High School Diploma or GED Required
Military satellite communications SHF and/or EHF operator course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education/military experience as required.
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities
3 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required.
Prior experience or demonstrated familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) satellite communication operations.
Familiar with basic computer network operations
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications desired Professionalism and positive attitude in workplace interactions
Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program.
Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program.

This position may involve travel to government test sites, training ranges, and operational locations, including potential OCONUS destinations for short periods of time.

Compensation
The base pay rate for this position is $38.29/hour
