About Thos. Moser
At Thos. Moser, we believe in living better with fewer things—created with care, built to last, and rooted in American handmade design. For more than fifty years, our furniture has been shaped by hand, guided by a quiet dedication to quality and intention. As we grow, our digital presence plays an essential role in welcoming more people into the story of our work. This is a highly entrepreneurial, hands on leadership role responsible for both direct revenue generation and the long-term development of our trade channel. The successful candidate will personally cultivate relationships with leading interior designers, generate new business, manage projects from specification through installation, and serve as a visible ambassador for the brand within the design community. While Thos. Moser serves hospitality, workplace, and institutional clients, the primary focus of this role will be growing our presence among luxury residential interior designers and design firms. We believe this community represents one of the greatest opportunities to introduce a new generation of clients to the brand. This role carries annual sales goals and will be measured by new account acquisition, project revenue, specification activity, and overall trade sales growth. Success requires both strategic thinking and a willingness to spend significant time in the field meeting designers, presenting the collection, pursuing opportunities, and closing business. This role offers an opportunity to shape what comes next. The systems, structure, and processes are still being built. We are looking for someone excited by the opportunity to help shape them while simultaneously delivering meaningful sales growth. The product, craftsmanship, and brand story, however, are already world class.

- Why This Role
This is an opportunity to help shape the next chapter of the Thos. Moser trade business—building meaningful relationships with leading interior designers while introducing more clients to furniture made by human hands, one piece at a time. The role begins with a strong focus on New York’s luxury residential design community, with the opportunity to help build a trade business that can grow nationally. You will be responsible for generating business today while helping define the relationships, experiences, and practices that will support that growth over time. At Thos. Moser, we believe the strongest partnerships are built through genuine connection and a shared appreciation for thoughtful design and lasting quality. That might mean bringing designers and their clients to Maine to spend time with our makers, hosting a dinner in the workshop, working together on a custom solution, or giving a design team greater access to the materials, methods, and people behind the work. We are willing to invest in experiences that are personal, useful, and true to who we are. For the right person, this is a rare combination of hands on selling, relationship building, entrepreneurship, and leadership. You will have the opportunity to develop new business, help shape the next generation of our trade program, and eventually build the team and systems needed to support its growth. We are not interested in growth for growth’s sake. We are interested in lasting relationships, doing things well, and making furniture that earns its place in people’s lives over time.
Requirements:
Qualifications5–15 years of experience selling to luxury residential interior designers Existing relationships within the NYC and Tri-State residential design community Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding annual sales goals Proven ability to generate business through relationship-driven selling Experience working with premium furniture, lighting, textiles, kitchens, architectural products, or other luxury home furnishings Experience managing a sales pipeline and closing complex opportunities Strong business development instincts with a hunter mentality Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort operating in a growing, evolving environment Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with hands on selling and account management Strong communication skills and refined design sensibility Appreciation for craftsmanship, architecture, materials, and enduring quality Excited by the opportunity to help make Thos. Moser a preferred partner to the country's leading residential design firms Location
New York City preferred, with periodic travel to Maine and other showroom locations. We are primarily seeking a full-time employee for this role. However, for an exceptional candidate with an established network and a successful independent sales practice, we are also open to discussing a 1099 independent representative structure. We recognize that many of the industry's strongest trade professionals operate independently, and we're willing to explore the arrangement that best positions both parties for long-term success.
