APPLY NOWBorder/Zipper SewerBeing a Border/Zipper Sewer includes piecing borders together, running the appropriate welt in them and running zippers in backs, ottomans and pillows to spec. Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 4:00pm (some overtime)
Specific Responsibilities:
- Standard operation procedures.
- Must be able to read ticket and job notes for directions and specifications before sewing.
- Run zipper and/or border machines
- Pull borders to remove excess welt cord
- Thread/re-thread machinery
- Install rolls of zipper into machinery/attach zipper flies for zipping
- Exercises care and follow the proper safety procedures to prevent injuries to themselves and their co-workers. May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as needed.
- Tools Used While Performing Duties:
- Sewing machine Screwdriver
- Scissors Tape Measure
- Zipper machine Tweezers
- Border machine

- Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports to Department Supervisor
- Organization Relationships:
- Works with other sewers on a daily basis as needed. Ability to adapt to a team oriented, production atmosphere is required.
- Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- High School graduate helpful
- Good Communication Skills oral and written.3+ years' experience in production upholstery fabric sewing in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment preferred.
