Post Producer & Editor

ABOUT BIG SLATE Big Slate Media is a Knoxville-based production company and agency. Founded in 2015, we help our partners create content that doesn’t suck. We believe great creativity happens when artistry, ingenuity, compassion, collaboration, positivity, and authenticity work together. This combination allows teams to create work that builds meaningful connections between brands and audiences. For us, it’s all about creating relationships and interactions that transcend the transaction. Over the years, we’ve evolved far beyond a traditional production company. Today, we partner with brands to develop campaigns, content ecosystems, and creative strategies that solve real business challenges. Our unique combination of agency services and production capabilities allows us to help clients think bigger, move faster, and create work that connects. Our team works with major brands like Fox Sports, HGTV, PetSafe, Regal Entertainment, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Clayton Homes, Mountain Dew, Visit Knoxville, and many others. While the “big dawgs” are impressive, we’re equally proud to work with local and regional businesses, organizations, and communities looking to make an impact through connected content. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Post Producer to play an integral role in operations, standards and evolution of the ever-important post production process. THE GIST This is a role for someone who measures the quality of a piece by the audience’s reaction and ultimate alignment with the creative vision. They see how the edit, the grade, the sound mix separate work that’s technically correct from work that’s actually great (i.e content that doesn’t suck). We’re looking for someone with real editorial range. They should have a strong point of view on color, the ear to know what’s off in a sound bed, and the technical knowledge to know how to fix it. This person should also be someone who can manage a post pipeline across multiple active projects, coach an editor through a difficult cut, and still find something worth improving in the final pass. The Post Producer is the creative and operational anchor of Big Slate’s post-production team. This role oversees the pipeline, sets the finishing standard for our work, and actively develops the editors around them. You’ll work closely with producers, directors, creatives and editors to ensure great work gets finished the right way: on time, at the right quality, and to a standard that pushes us forward as a team.
