Senior Electrical Design Engineer Gridworks is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer owns the electrical design on assigned projects from preliminary design through issued-for-construction (IFC), works with the drafting team, and serves as Engineer of Record when required. Design and Development Direct development of detailed electrical drawings, including single-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and details, with drafting team. Design electrical systems for PV and BESS including DC and AC collection, medium-voltage collector systems, grounding, and auxiliary power, from preliminary design through 30/60/90%, IFC, and as-built. Prepare equipment specifications to support major equipment procurement, and review vendor submittals and drawings (inverters/PCS, transformers, switchgear, cable, etc.).Serve as Engineer of Record: seal drawings and calculations, and perform QA/QC reviews of design packages prepared by other engineers. Engineering Analysis Build and maintain system models using industry-standard software (ETAP, CYMCAP, WinIGS, or equivalent).Perform and review electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination, cable ampacity, grounding, and voltage drop, verifying designs against code requirements and site-specific project conditions. Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical designs.
