Account Executive

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Remote (US)

Reporting To: SVP Sales Americas & Global AI Sales Transformation

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 / year

Description: At Oritain, we’re solving a problem most people don’t even realize exists until it matters. Where did this product really come from? Is it what it claims to be? We are global leaders in product origin verification, with locations in Washington D.C, Auckland, Dunedin, London, Paris and Singapore. We sit at the intersection of forensic science and supply chain technology, harnessing science and data to verify the genuine origin of materials across the world's most critical commodities. Our mission is to protect people and the planet by ensuring transparency and integrity in global supply chains. We empower the world’s leading brands to make positive changes across their supply chain; ensuring product integrity, meeting regulatory demands, and reducing the risk of fraud and unethical sourcing - creating real change in our world. As demand for supply chain transparency continues to grow across the US market, we are seeking an Account Executive to join our US sales team. About the role: As an Account Executive, Americas, you'll play a key role in accelerating Oritain's growth across the US, helping leading brands and retailers build more transparent, trusted and resilient supply chains. Reporting to the SVP of sales, you'll own the full sales cycle, from initial engagement through to signed membership agreements, closing mid-market opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who wants to develop their consultative selling expertise in a highly relevant market. You'll engage senior stakeholders, challenge conventional thinking, and position Oritain as a trusted advisor in supply chain traceability, compliance and sustainability. Supported by SDR and Marketing-generated opportunities, you'll also take ownership of building your own pipeline and creating new business opportunities.

What you'll be doing: You'll own and manage the complete sales cycle, taking opportunities from prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close. Working with mid-market brands and retailers across the US, you'll build strong business cases, lead commercially focused conversations and create solutions that deliver value for customers while helping Oritain achieve its growth ambitions. A key part of the role will be developing and executing a territory plan, maintaining a healthy pipeline and generating new business opportunities through targeted outreach, referrals, networking and industry events. You'll work closely with our SDR and Marketing teams to maximise opportunity creation while ensuring your own prospecting efforts complement wider sales activity. You’ll use insight-led selling techniques to engage senior stakeholders across sourcing, compliance and sustainability functions, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor rather than simply a supplier. By understanding each customer's business, regulatory challenges and strategic priorities, you'll help them navigate increasingly complex supply chain risks and make informed decisions. Working cross-functionally with colleagues across Science, Legal, Marketing and Account Management, you'll help progress opportunities efficiently and ensure customers experience a smooth transition following a successful sale. You'll also maintain accurate Salesforce records, provide reliable forecasts and use sales and AI tools to continuously improve performance, identify deal risks and increase sales effectiveness. As a representative of Oritain in the market, you'll attend industry events, build valuable relationships and stay informed on emerging regulations and trends that influence customer priorities across supply chain transparency, compliance and sustainability.

What we're looking for: We're looking for an early career salesperson with two + years' experience in a quota-carrying B2B closing role, such as Account Executive or Sales Executive. You'll have a track record of achieving or exceeding targets and experience managing full sales cycles, including opportunities you've sourced yourself. Experience selling into mid-market organizations with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles will be important for success in this role. You’ll be comfortable building pipeline through proactive prospecting and relationship development, rather than relying solely on inbound leads. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll need to simplify complex concepts for business buyers and influence senior decision-makers with confidence. Experience using Salesforce as well as modern sales and AI tools will help you hit the ground running. You'll also be willing to travel across North America when required. Beyond experience, we're looking for someone who is naturally curious, takes ownership of their results and brings energy and resilience to every conversation. You plan effectively, manage your time well and maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting. Most importantly, you're someone who builds trust through strong listening skills, empathy and a genuine desire to understand customer challenges and help solve them. Experience in risk, compliance, ESG, sustainability or supply chain-related sales would be advantageous, as would an interest in fashion, textiles, science or sustainability. However, these are not essential requirements. What you'll get At Oritain, exceptional performance doesn't go unnoticed. We believe in rewarding high performers with meaningful opportunities, whether that's taking on projects, influencing business decisions, or accelerating your career development. As a member of our global commercial team, you'll work closely with colleagues across Sales, Marketing, Science, Legal and Customer teams, giving you broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to make a visible impact on Oritain's continued growth. You'll have access to senior leaders, collaborate with experts in their fields and contribute to solving some of the most important challenges facing global supply chains today. In return for your ambition and impact, you'll join a collaborative, purpose driven organization where your growth is taken seriously, your work has real influence, and your success is recognized.
