Responsibilities:- Performs radiographic services on patients of every age utilizing approved departmental protocol
- Operates radiographic equipment
- Provides Service Excellence by using the "AIDET" Technique; Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You.
- Explains the procedure to patients and provides patient education
- Immobilizes patients as necessary
- Selects appropriated exposure factors
- Practices radiation protection
- Evaluates images for technical quality and prepares for physician interpretation
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures
- Practices safety precautions and aseptic techniques as necessary
- Prepares and administers contrast media as applicable to procedure
- Assists physician with imaging and fluoroscopic procedures
- Initiates life support measures for patients if necessary
- Maintains patient records
- Demonstrates competency in the use of RIS, PACS, and any other information system as required
- Understands and adheres to departmental policies and procedures related to specific job functions; acts as resource to other staff and new personnel
- Participates in professional development by maintaining clinical competency and completes mandatory medical center and departmental reviews. Maintains continuing education credits as required by governing board
