Wound, Ostomy, Continence-RNThe Wound, Ostomy, Continence-RN is a nurse specialist whose scope of practice involves the age-specific care of patients aged neonate through geriatric; includes planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating the care of patients with impaired skin integrity, ostomies, and complex or chronic wounds, including surgical wounds. As a clinician, the Wound, Ostomy, Continence-RN provides direct patient care, consultations, assessments, recommendations, and ongoing re-evaluation of nursing care for hospitalized patients and outpatients under the specific scope of practice. The Wound, Ostomy, Continence-RN is a resource for nursing staff, patients, families, and physicians. The Wound, Ostomy, Continence-RN sees patients with a physician or nursing consult as ordered through EPIC.
