Coverage DetailsASAP – October 11 October 16 – October 31 November 9 – November 24 December 1 – December 15 Shift Details24-hour cardiothoracic surgery call coverage Weekday and weekend coverage based on the monthly schedule Must respond by phone within 15 minutes during assigned call coverage Must be able to present to the hospital within 30 minutes when required
Requirements:- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active unrestricted Florida license or eligibility for Florida licensureBLS, ACLSCurrent DEA registration, as applicable
- Required Procedures / Skills
- Surgical first-assist support for adult cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic procedures, and thoracic procedures
- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH), including saphenous vein conduit harvesting for CABG, or ability to demonstrate competency
- Assignment Details
- Patient volume: 30EMR: Meditech, Patient Keeper, eCWProvider will support the hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service
- Emergency call coverage, inpatient consultations, emergency department consultations, and operative coverage
- Evaluate and manage postoperative patients
- Provide inpatient consultations
- Remain available for emergent consultations and operative cases throughout assigned 24-hour call periods
- Coverage includes collaboration with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care/Intensivists, and Radiology as appropriate
