Job Description:
Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest. We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bread Packer to join our bakery team. This role is responsible for packaging bread and other bakery products, washing baking trays, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced bakery production environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and product quality.
What You'll Do:
- Package bread, pastries, and other bakery products according to company standards
- Ensure all products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for distribution or display
- Inspect bakery products for quality, freshness, and appearance before packaging
- Handle baked goods carefully to prevent damage and maintain product presentation
- Wash, clean, and sanitize baking trays, pans, and other bakery equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area and surrounding workspace
- Clean work surfaces, equipment, and floors as needed throughout the shift
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene requirements at all times
- Dispose of waste and packaging materials properly
- Assist bakery team members with additional tasks as needed
- Follow instructions from the Bakery Manager and maintain an efficient workflow
Work Schedule: Fri - Sun 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (possible more hours if you want)
Pay & Compensation: $17.13/hBenefits: We offer competitive employee benefits including paid sick leave (1 hour per 40 hours worked), partial employer-covered medical insurance (75% for full-time employees), and paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks after 2 years.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bakery, food production, packaging, or similar environment is preferred but not required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain product quality
- Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wash trays and perform cleaning duties as part of daily responsibilities
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
