This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role for a seasoned multi‑site operations executive who has personally driven operational transformations, built strong leadership teams and delivered measurable results. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that ensure safe, efficient operations and consistent delivery of high‑quality products
- Lead operations across five locations in the greater Chicago area, overseeing manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing engineering, quality and safety
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and exceed operational targets
- Drive productivity improvements and cost reductions by reducing waste, scrap, rework and other inefficiencies
- Lead cross‑functional quality initiatives and strengthen supplier accountability and quality performance
- Oversee capital planning and execute CAPEX projects that enhance productivity, capacity and growth
- Partner with sourcing and supply chain teams to optimize inventory, transportation costs and distribution performance
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing and sourcing teams to deliver new product introductions on time and on cost
- Build organizational capability by developing Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain leaders and driving succession planning
- Champion a world‑class safety culture through proactive risk identification, mitigation and employee accountability
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and company standards
- What's Needed?15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments, including multi‑site responsibility
- Proven success managing multiple facilities, driving performance and holding teams accountable
- Demonstrated ability to implement processes, execute continuous improvement initiatives and deliver measurable results
- Track record of building high‑performing teams, developing future leaders and establishing a culture of accountability and execution
- Strong financial and business acumen, including experience managing budgets, capital investments and cost reduction
- Experience leading supply chain optimization, supplier quality improvement and large‑scale transformation initiatives
- Strong change management, project management and cross‑functional leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence
- Comfort working within a lean, continuous‑improvement‑driven operating philosophy while remaining flexible and adaptable
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Willingness to travel regularly between facilities and suppliers, with occasional international travel
