Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer New York, NY | Full Time | On-SiteAbout the Opportunity A well-established MEP and fire protection consulting firm in Manhattan is growing and looking for a Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer to join its team. The firm has hired steadily this year, has very low turnover, and runs a busy, fast-moving practice with a steady flow of projects across New York City. What You'll Do:
- Design sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYCDesign domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems
- Perform hydraulic calculations and size fire protection and plumbing systems
- Produce clear, accurate construction drawings in Revit and AutoCADMake sure designs meet NFPA standards, the NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, and FDNY requirements
- Coordinate with the mechanical and electrical teams on multiple projects at once
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering field4 to 5+ years of fire protection and/or plumbing design experience with an MEP consulting firm
- Solid working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCADFamiliarity with hydraulic calculation software
- Someone who works quickly and accurately, can handle several projects at once, and takes pride in turning out quality drawings
Nice to Have:
- EIT, FE, or NICET certification
- Experience with NYC DOB and FDNY filings
