The Opportunity: American Bath Group is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the Decorative Products Group across the Pacific region. This leader will inherit meaningful customer relationships, a strong network of seven independent rep agencies, and positive territory momentum. The opportunity is to protect what is working, ensure a seamless leadership transition, and convert that foundation into durable growth across a five-brand portfolio. The role sits at the center of customers, showroom teams, rep agencies, brand leaders, and cross-functional partners. It is a field-led assignment for someone who can combine relationship stewardship with disciplined territory management, product learning, clear accountability, and visible follow-through.3. Success in Year One A successful first year will be defined by continuity and growth: strategic customer relationships remain strong; broad showroom coverage and display presence are protected; territory momentum is sustained; rep agencies operate with clear priorities and KPI accountability; and growth expands across the portfolio, particularly in the brands with the most untapped opportunity. Protect the base: Preserve the region's most important wholesale and showroom relationships, including a major MAAX account with extensive showroom presence. Sustain momentum: Maintain positive sales and unit trends without transition-related erosion. Build portfolio growth: Accelerate Maidstone/DXV while delivering steady growth in Mr. Steam and California Faucets and protecting MAAX and Swan opportunities. Strengthen execution: Operate a monthly KPI and business-review rhythm across seven rep agencies, with clear actions and follow-through. Earn field credibility: Develop enough portfolio and channel fluency to lead showroom meetings and product training with rep partners by the six-month mark.4. The Mandate Protect and grow the Pacific decorative-products business by preserving strategic customer and showroom strength, rapidly mastering the multi-brand portfolio, and leading seven rep-agency relationships with disciplined KPI accountability, field leadership, and collaborative teamwork. This is an operating leadership role. The Director will personally own key-account transition, territory and brand priorities, rep-agency cadence, showroom relationship management, product ramp, account planning, monthly KPI conversations, and cross-functional issue resolution.5. Year One Critical Outcomes Strategic account continuity: Protect sales momentum, market position, showroom coverage, display space, and senior relationship strength across the region's highest-value accounts. Territory performance: Use brand, account, and territory reporting to identify growth and decline early, prioritize field action, and sustain positive regional performance. Portfolio development: Create growth across all five brands, with the strongest emphasis on Maidstone/DXV and consistent progress in Mr. Steam and California Faucets. Rep-agency effectiveness: Maintain strong coaching relationships, conduct monthly KPI reviews, lead joint field priorities, and address gaps without disrupting a high-performing partner network. Product and channel fluency: Build credible command of the portfolio, ABG systems, and showroom/wholesale dynamics; translate that knowledge into effective field meetings and training. Team and stakeholder alignment: Partner effectively across brand leaders, channel management, agencies, and customers while operating with direct communication, ownership, and low ego.6. Why This Role Is HardThe Pacific region combines geographic scale, premium showroom expectations, a complex five-brand portfolio, and indirect leadership across seven independent agencies. The successful leader must protect mature relationships while building new growth, learn quickly without losing field credibility, and maintain operating discipline across 50-75% travel. Continuity under transition: The role follows a well-connected incumbent, so customer and agency trust must transfer quickly and thoughtfully. Indirect leadership: The Director must create accountability through influence, evidence, coaching, and cadence rather than relying on direct reporting lines. Uneven brand opportunity: The portfolio includes both a mature anchor business and brands with significant room to grow; priorities cannot be managed with a one-size-fits-all approach. Complex decision paths: Some display and customer-event decisions can be made in the field, while pricing, discounts, rebates, programs, and margin decisions often require alignment with brand leadership. High field presence: The territory requires thoughtful travel planning across coastal markets, inland geographies, Alaska, and northern Idaho.7. Leadership Profile Relationship steward: Builds durable trust with wholesaler, showroom, agency, and executive stakeholders while keeping relationships connected to measurable business outcomes. Rep-agency operator: Creates clarity and accountability through monthly reviews, joint field work, coaching, and consistent follow-through. Structured territory owner: Uses account plans, travel cadence, CRM, reporting, and business reviews to run the region proactively. Fast product learner: Absorbs a complex portfolio quickly and turns product knowledge into credible customer conversations and field training. Polished field communicator: Can engage showroom consultants, distributor leaders, designers, agency principals, and internal brand partners with confidence and preparation. Collaborative leader: Operates directly and respectfully, shares information, seeks input, and retains clear ownership without relying on hierarchy.8. Experience Requirements Capabilities required for success Demonstrated ownership of a geographically dispersed sales territory, strategic accounts, or a comparable field-led commercial scope. Ability to develop senior customer relationships while translating those relationships into sales, market-position, showroom, or account-growth outcomes. Ability to coach and hold indirect sales partners accountable through clear expectations, operating cadence, and measurable follow-through. Practical digital fluency across CRM, reporting, presentation, mobile communication, and remote territory-management workflows. Willingness and ability to travel 50-75%, typically two to three weeks per month, across the full Pacific territory. Residence within Northern California, Northern Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, or northern Idaho. Washington/Seattle is preferred because of the concentration of strategic customer activity. Experience that will accelerate success Experience working with independent manufacturers' rep agencies. Wholesale, showroom, decorative-product, bath/plumbing, steam, faucet, or adjacent building-products experience. Existing relationships with Pacific-region distributors, showroom organizations, designers, or agency principals. Experience managing a multi-brand portfolio with both mature and underdeveloped businesses. Interior-design education or comparable design and presentation sensibility. No specific degree requirement has been established. Demonstrated capability, scope, and outcomes will carry more weight than credential matching.9. Why the Right Candidate Will Be Excited For a commercially minded builder, this role offers an unusual combination: a strong customer and agency foundation, a portfolio of recognized brands, and real room to create growth. The right leader will not be asked to rebuild a broken territory. Instead, they will have the opportunity to protect a valuable market position, shape how seven agency partners operate, expand underdeveloped brands, and become a visible commercial leader across the Pacific showroom and wholesale community. Own a meaningful multi-state business with direct visibility to customers and brand leadership. Work across premium design, wellness, faucet, surfacing, and bathware categories rather than a single product line. Influence how strong rep partners prioritize opportunities and execute in the field. Balance relationship leadership with measurable commercial ownership. Build on positive momentum while leaving a clear operating and growth imprint on the territory.10. Why This Role Matters The Pacific region represents an important customer, showroom, and brand-growth platform for American Bath Group. The Director of Sales will protect relationships that have taken years to build, preserve the company's position in high-value showrooms, and help a diverse portfolio reach more customers through disciplined agency leadership and field execution. For the business, this role creates continuity at a critical moment and establishes the operating rhythm for the next phase of regional growth. For the successful candidate, it is an opportunity to lead with autonomy, visibility, and measurable impact across one of American Bath Group's most relationship-driven territories. Build the relationships. Lead the field. Grow the portfolio.
