Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
- Install and repair underground utility piping according to plans and specifications.
- Install water services, water mains, sewer mains, sewer laterals, and force mains
- Operate excavation and construction equipment safely and efficiently, including excavators and other heavy equipment.
- Perform excavation, trenching, bedding, pipe installation, backfilling, and site preparation.
- Identify and address field conditions that may affect the installation.
- Work safely around existing underground utilities and follow all applicable safety requirements.
- Perform general labor and other construction duties as needed.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility pipe installation.
Proven experience installing:
- Water services
- Water mainsSewer mainsSewer laterals
- Force mains
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and utility drawings
- Experience operating excavators and other construction equipment.
- Knowledge of proper trenching, excavation, pipe installation, bedding, and backfilling procedures.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding construction work.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as with a crew.
