About the initiative Mabuhay Gardens is the storied 435/443 Broadway venue in San Francisco's North Beach. The building has hosted performances by legends including Louis Armstrong, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Dead Kennedys, Iggy Pop, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Specials, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Herbie Hancock, R.E.M., Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Soundgarden, Bad Religion, Dave Chappelle, and many others. In collaboration with CrowdDoing, we are regenerating the Mab as a hybrid cultural ecosystem: live music, dance, comedy, rentals, popup culinary lab, off-peak wellness partnerships, and solarpunk / regenerative-culture programming. This is not a nostalgia project. It's an active, multi-platform operating system — Tixr, Luma, TagVenue, Peerspace, Eventective, Events in Minutes, Bandsintown, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, themab.org — with a real audience, a real booking pipeline, and a real coalition of artists, neighbors, promoters, and mission-aligned partners.
What you'll do:
You'll own a defined dimension of the growth stack — enough to ship real work in your first two weeks, without carrying the whole venture. Growth hacking — Identify and run low-cost, high-leverage experiments to grow event attendance, rental inquiries, and follower quality across Luma, Instagram, LinkedIn, and email. Turn one-off event promotions into repeatable playbooks. Marketing execution — Draft and schedule cross-platform posts, event listings, and email campaigns; improve conversion on themab.org and event landing pages; A/B test copy, imagery, and calls to action. Platform automation — Reduce manual work across our listing platforms (TagVenue, Peerspace, Eventective, Events in Minutes, Bandsintown, Luma) using tools like Zapier, Make, Google Apps Script, or lightweight AI-assisted workflows. Set up notification routing, listing hygiene, and reporting dashboards. External coalition building — Identify, contact, and warm up aligned partners: local artists, neighborhood associations, dance/music/comedy communities, wellness partners, regenerative-culture networks, sponsors, and cross-promotion venues. Move partnerships from "interested" to "co-promoting."Measurement — Track what worked and what didn't. Small weekly write-ups so the team can learn and repeat. Who this role is for We're looking for someone who can contribute meaningfully from week one — not a senior strategist, not an assistant. Somebody with real, demonstrable skill in at least two of the following, and curiosity about the rest: Growth marketing or growth hacking for events, venues, arts, hospitality, or community brands Social media and email marketing (Instagram, LinkedIn, Luma, Mailchimp-style tools) No-code / low-code automation (Zapier, Make, n8n, Google Apps Script, Airtable) or light scripting Partnerships / community outreach / BD / coalition-building Basic analytics (GA4, UTM discipline, spreadsheet fluency)AI-assisted marketing workflows (drafting, listing generation, personalization) You'll thrive here if you're a self-starter who likes shipping small things weekly, enjoys arts and culture, and wants a portfolio piece with a legendary Bay Area venue attached to it. What you'll get Skill compounding — Hands-on training in systemic go-to-market, platform automation, and coalition design alongside CrowdDoing's global mentor network. Mentorship — Direct working relationships with Mabuhay's producing team, CrowdDoing PMs, and cross-initiative marketing peers. Purpose — Contribute to a UN SDG-aligned regenerative-culture project in one of the most iconic music venues in American history. Optional in-person — If you're in the Bay Area, join Mabuhay events, mixers, and co-producer lunches at 435/443 Broadway. Time commitment & structure3-month minimum, renewable
