Job Description
Summary of Position:- The operator will be responsible for cutting, shaping, or removing metal on a variety of components, typically to prepare surfaces for welding or repair. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques, and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Classification Level AEncompasses all duties, responsibilities and skills of B level
- Able to independently train others within this position on all classifications listed below
- The ability to identify which parts are to be hot arced and the temperature to do the job correctly
- The ability to arc all high alloy castings efficiently
- Demonstrates high proficiency in both production and quality
- Classification Level BCheck castings with arc gauges to maintain proper casting profile
- Able to identify and remove excess metal on castings
- Proper use and care of air arc equipment
- Demonstrates proficiency in both production and quality
- Ability to determine the proper size of carbon rod
- Entry Level Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic math skills
- Must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 100 lbs. (employees are encouraged to seek assistance when lifting over 50 lbs. and assistance is readily available.)Work in or near extremes in temperatures and dusty environment
- Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must have reliable attendance, willing to work flexible hours, & work well with others
- Must perform other duties assigned
