About Us:
Sophos is a growing pediatric practice providing speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, academic tutoring, and executive functioning support across clinic, school, and home settings in Phoenix. We're proud of how our team collaborates to support the whole child and their family. At Sophos, we believe clinicians do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and invested in. We’ve built a collaborative environment where SLPs have the flexibility to provide thoughtful care, opportunities to continue learning, and a voice in shaping the future of our practice. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a talented SLP who wants to grow with us.
About the Role:
We're hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a role designed to evolve alongside the needs of our practice. You'll build your own pediatric caseload while helping shape the future of our practice, with the opportunity to supervise SLPAs as your role evolves. Your caseload will be primarily clinic based, with a consistent weekly block of school-based pull-out sessions at one local private school, typically 1–2 days per week. Occasional in-home sessions may also be available within a short drive of the clinic.
What We're Looking ForRequired:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with a minimum of 1 year working as a full-time SLPCurrent AZ state licensure (or eligibility)
- Strong clinical judgment Excellent rapport-building skills with children and families
- Comfortable balancing clinic-based and school-based work on a consistent weekly schedule
Preferred: Experience supervising SLPAs, clinical fellows, or graduate students
Comfort with occasional in-home sessions
Why You'll Love It Here:
Real growth path: Build your own caseload across clinic and school settings. As you grow into a leadership role, you’ll spend more time conducting evaluations, mentoring SLPAs, and guiding clinical programming. A predictable schedule: Most weeks include one school-based day, not multiple settings and transitions. We've built this role around a sustainable rhythm, not constant switching.
Flexibility where it counts: Direct therapy is provided in person, but report writing, parent communication, and other administrative tasks can be completed remotely.
Paid indirect time: Report writing, documentation, and parent/teacher communication are compensated at your hourly rate. Competitive compensation: $65-70 per hour, based on experience.
Paid time off:
Accrued PTO plus paid holidays.
Retirement savings: SIMPLE IRA with a 3% employer match.
Monthly stipend: Receive $150 per month to put toward insurance or mileage.
Professional development funding: Receive a $1,000 annual stipend for CEUs and licensure renewal.
Expand your expertise in literacy if you're interested: We offer employer-funded training and certification in evidence-based reading programs, including Orton-Gillingham, for clinicians who would like to develop skills in this area. This opportunity is completely optional.
Collaborative, multidisciplinary team: Work alongside other SLPs, academic tutors, teachers, and OTs who coordinate care.
Clients come first: Caseload decisions are driven by what's right for kids and families. Schedule and Location
