Motor Vehicle Operator The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operating wheeled vehicles, wheel-mounted tractors; or engineering and construction equipment with wheel or crawler-type tractions. Hauling cargo or fuel. Tows/recover equipment. Driving vehicles in restricted traffic environments on government installations, over public roads and highways, or under cross-country conditions. Operating platform, van, stake and dump trucks, which have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Some vehicles may be equipped with air brakes. Vehicles are operated over uneven terrain, over improved/unimproved roads and through congested areas. Performing operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires and cleaning and washing vehicles. Performs other related duties.
