EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY & YARD TECHNICIAN

Department: Equipment Operations / ServicePOSITION OVERVIEWIsom Tractor is seeking a dependable, hardworking, mechanically inclined individual to join our team. This hands-on position assembles, prepares, moves, and maintains agricultural equipment, tractors, commercial mowers, and implements. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable around machinery, and takes pride in keeping the dealership yard organized and customer-ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESEquipment Assembly & Setup: Assemble new farm implements, attachments, and machinery according to manufacturer instructions. Set up rotary cutters, shredders, disc harrows, box blades, tillers, seeders, plows, and other implements. Install wheels, tires, hydraulic hoses, driveline components, guards, and accessories. Assist with tractor loader installations, attachments, and accessory setup. Use hand, power, and pneumatic tools and shop equipment safely. Inspect assemblies for proper installation, operation, and safety; complete lubrication, fluid checks, and adjustments. Assist service technicians with equipment preparation and minor mechanical work.

Equipment Handling & Yard Operations: Operate tractors, forklifts, skid steers, mowers, and other machinery when trained and authorized. Load and unload equipment from trucks and trailers; help secure loads using proper tie-down procedures. Move, arrange, and stage equipment across the dealership property. Prepare tractors, mowers, and implements for customer pickup or delivery. Maintain an orderly display and storage yard and keep equipment clean and sale-ready.

General Maintenance & Dealership Support: Keep the yard, assembly areas, and shop clean, organized, and safe. Perform routine yard upkeep, including mowing, weed control, and debris removal. Wash and detail equipment; receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments. Report damaged or missing components and assist sales and service departments as needed. Follow dealership safety procedures and use required protective equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: RequiredDependable attendance, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand and power tools. Ability to follow assembly instructions and work independently or with a team. Comfort working outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently. Ability to operate equipment safely after appropriate training; valid driver's license.

Preferred, Not Required: Experience with tractors, farm implements, commercial mowers, or heavy equipment. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, PTO drivelines, and three-point hitch equipment. Forklift or skid steer experience; basic welding or fabrication skills. Dealership, farm, construction equipment, or repair shop experience. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates mechanical ability, reliability, and a willingness to learn. PHYSICAL & WORKING CONDITIONSPrimarily outdoor work with some indoor shop duties. Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and use of mechanical tools. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, and equipment noise. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required.
