Redlands Community Hospital seeks a Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech to support our busy Emergency Department. This role performs unit clerical duties, manages patient charts and orders, and accurately enters information into hospital systems. You will observe cardiac monitors, recognize and promptly report rhythm changes, and support nursing staff with timely communication and coordination of patient flow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and committed to compassionate, patient-centered care and strong teamwork in a mission-driven community hospital. Perform clerical and receptionist duties for the Emergency Department Maintain and organize patient charts and medical records Enter physician orders and patient data accurately into EHR systems Continuously observe cardiac monitors and recognize basic arrhythmias Promptly report rhythm changes or alarms to nursing staff Facilitate communication between physicians, nurses, and ancillary departments Assist with coordinating patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges Answer phones and relay messages and orders promptly and accurately Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and regulations Support a compassionate, team-oriented, patient-centered care environment Medical terminology Cardiac rhythm interpretation EKG monitoring Electronic health records (EHR) Order entry systems Clerical and filing systems Emergency department workflow Telephone and communication systems Basic computer proficiency Data entry accuracy Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k High school diploma or equivalent Cardiac monitor technician or EKG technician certification preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Previous hospital or emergency department experience
