Float Phlebotomist – Healthcare

Community Care Physicians, a physician-owned multispecialty group in Latham, NY, seeks a Phlebotomist Float to provide high-quality venipuncture and specimen collection across multiple practices. This role supports patient-centered care by performing blood draws, specimen processing, labeling, and order verification while following strict safety and infection control protocols. The Phlebotomist Float travels between care centers, collaborates with clinicians and support staff, ensures accurate documentation in the EHR, provides compassionate patient interaction, and helps maintain efficient clinic workflows and lab operations across the Capital Region. Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients of all ages Verify patient identity and lab orders; accurately label and document all specimens Process, prepare, and safely transport specimens according to lab protocols Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures at all times Float between multiple practices in the Capital Region as scheduling requires Provide compassionate, patient-centered service and clear communication Collaborate with clinicians and staff to support efficient clinic workflows Maintain work areas, equipment, and supplies in clean, ready condition Enter and verify data in EHR and laboratory information systems Monitor and respond to priority and stat lab requests as needed Venipuncture Capillary blood collection Specimen processing and handling Specimen labeling and order verification Infection control and safety protocols EHR and laboratory information systems (LIS) use Patient identification and consent procedures Customer service and patient communication Time management and multitasking Travel coordination between practice sites Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
