You're a plant reliability or maintenance engineer who gets frustrated that the plant doesn't run better. You see many problems clearly, you want to fix it, but the plant and your management aren't empowering you to do so.
You believe the plant has massive untapped potential to modernize with AI, done right. You watch problems get solved (or ignored) with outdated methods, and it drives you crazy.
You're still grounded in first principles, with a deep, hands-on understanding of how the plant actually runs.
You're energized by optimization opportunities: refining maintenance plans and strategies, diagnosing reliability issues, thinking about low-capex allocation for the most return, adding hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to the bottom line.
You couldn't care less about titles or the "plant engineer" label. You just want to solve the hardest problems at your plant. That's what should be valued.
You'd rather spend your day in the field than sit through another quarterly leadership meeting.
