Credit Representative 1

Summary: Credit Representative I will be required to achieve and maintain the most current AR portfolio for a giventerritory, which includes a reduction in DSO by performing any and all functions necessary to resolve allopen AR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The AR/Credit Specialist will perform tasks like the following:o Proactively manage assigned territory through regular and frequent outbound contact with customer. Initiate timely collection activity for payment on past-due accounts. Document customer notes withevery contact.o Research and resolve any and all issues that cause any cash amount to be past-due in thedesignated portfolio by maintaining the cleanest possible A/R.o Control chronically past-due accounts by initiating and/or arranging appropriate payment plans.o Negotiate with internal and external customers in a manner that will assure continued strong businessrelations while protecting the company's bottom line.o On a daily basis, review and release orders on accounts for held orders whose balance and conditionrequire a manual and independent decision; proactive credit review is required.o Reconcile customer accounts by resolving any problems that prevent timely payments. Assistcustomers with credit/collection reconciliation problems to resolve outstanding balances.o Follow established guidelines on collection techniques and procedures.o Effectively use available investigative resources to understand customers business and perform duediligence, including analysis of sales growth, quality of management, and Mizunos share of sales.o Review established credit limits up to $50K by analyzing credit data and financial statements andgranting increases as sales volume changes.o Adjust credit limits as needed based on credit concerns. Analyze risk in extending credit.o Determine when an accounts are uncollectible and recommend outside agency assistance.o Submit changes to Customer Master Data as needed.o Make optimum use of credit and collections software.o Provide world-class customer service to internal and external customers.o Provide coverage for other Credit Representatives territories as needed.o Communicate regularly with Credit Supervisor regarding activities.o Handle sensitive information in a confidential mannero Perform other Accounting duties as assigned Qualificationso 5+ years credit/collections experience, preferably in distribution environmento 2+ years customer service experienceo 2+ years JD Edwards/OneWorld A/R experience preferredo IBM Notes experience preferredo Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience a pluso Proficiency in MS Office suite, including MS Outlook email and calendar managemento Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functiono Excellent negotiation skills and ability to achieve win-win outcomeso Excellent oral and written communication skillso Exceptional organization and time management skillso Character traits of dependability, integrity, and positivityo Attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancieso Ability to initiate action proactively, follow up on tasks, and focus on achieving goalso Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well cooperate with team memberso Ability to build rapport and modify behavior to facilitate personal interaction and business results Physical Demands/Essential Functionso Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an open office environment.o Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
