TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Fremont, California, 94538!Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry LocationFremont, CA | Medical Surgical / Telemetry Schedule / Job Type Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | On-SiteKey Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed mixed Med/Surg and Telemetry unit, managing a patient ratio of approximately 1:4 or 1:5, which may include total care patients Care for patients with primarily medical diagnoses including UTI, pleural effusions, altered mental status, hepatic encephalopathy, dehydration, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, and cellulitis Titrate heparin drips per protocol; no other titratable drips are used on this unit Monitor patients with telemetry capability using a Philips cardiac monitoring system; strip reading is not required of bedside RNsManage patients on CPAP (home routine) and stable BiPap as appropriate to the unit's level of care; note this unit does not support high-flow oxygen Float to another Med/Surg Telemetry unit as needed; rotate weekend and holiday assignments with permanent staff
Required Qualifications:- Active RN license valid in California (or compact eligibility)BLS certification requiredACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
- Comfort and proficiency managing a 1:5 patient ratio, including total care patients
- Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working on a combined Med/Surg and Telemetry unit
- Familiarity with Philips cardiac monitoring systems
- Experience with heparin titration per protocol
