Responsibilities of the Sheet Metal Fabricator:
- Set up and operate press brake and punch press machines to form sheet-metal parts to specification
- Read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Inspect completed work using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Deburr, buff, and grind edges to ensure smooth, high-quality finishes
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures
- Requirements of the Sheet Metal Fabricator:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Reliable transportation (site is not currently accessible via public transit)
- Proficient in shop math, including fractions, decimals, and angles
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and bend schedules
- Experience with precision gauges preferred
- Must be a fast learner and eager to grow in the fabrication trade
- Compensation for the Sheet Metal Fabricator:
- Competitive; $24/hour as a temp.
- Upon hire: $26.61/hour, increasing to $27.00/hour after 30 days worked.
