Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join their team. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine engines and equipment while ensuring high-quality service for customers and boat owners. The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working on both gas and diesel marine engines.
Responsibilities:
-Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on marine engines, including gas, diesel, and outboard motors.-Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on marine vessels, vehicles, and yard equipment.-Conduct safety inspections and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.-Accurately track labor hours and complete required service documentation.-Submit parts requests and coordinate with the parts department as needed.-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.-Follow all shop safety procedures and company standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-2+ years of mechanic experience, preferably in marine, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or related industries.-Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.-Ability to work independently and efficiently in a service environment.-Must provide and maintain personal mechanic tools.-Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain productivity.-Knowledge of workplace and shop safety practices.
NICE TO HAVE:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE-Marine engine repair experience.-Experience working with diesel engines and outboard motors.-Marine certifications or technical training are a plus.
