Clinical labs run on automation now. Be the engineer who keeps it running, and build a field service career on some of the most advanced equipment in diagnostics. Why this role Hospital and reference labs use automated systems to process patient samples around the clock. When one goes down, patient results wait, and you're the engineer who gets it back up. Our client is an established global manufacturer of lab automation and diagnostic products. Its field engineers work across electrical, mechanical, robotic and software systems instead of one narrow part, with real training and a clear path to senior field service roles. Who thrives here Hands-on troubleshooters who would rather be at a customer site than behind a desk People who stay calm and courteous when a lab manager needs the system back up now Anyone comfortable suiting up in PPE and working around biohazards in a clinical lab Early-career field service engineers and technicians who want to grow into senior roles Not for you if you want a fixed 9-to-5 or need to sleep in your own bed every night.
What you'll do:- Set up new automated lab systems at customer sites and get them running
- Keep installed systems healthy with scheduled maintenance, calibrations and safety checks
- Track down and fix electrical, mechanical, robotic and software faults, often straight from the schematic
- Coach lab teams on running their equipment well
- Keep clean records on every visit, and own uptime and customer satisfaction on your accounts
- What you bring
- A technical foundation in electronics or electromechanical systems, from an associate's degree, a technical program, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Real hands-on time with robotic, electronic or electromechanical equipment, and you can work from a schematic
- A customer-service mindset, clear on the phone and in writing, and steady in person
- Most of your week is spent at customer labs across the region, sometimes on short notice, with some evening, weekend and holiday work
- The work is physical, with heavy lifts, long stretches standing or on the road, and time working in cramped spots
- Authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship
