A tertiary referral hospital in Dothan, Alabama is hiring a Hospitalist Nocturnist. The hospital is a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. The role covers overnight admissions and inpatient care, with 24/7 pulmonary, critical care, and subspecialty support. The position has no procedural requirements and no call, and new graduates are welcome to apply.
Schedule
Full-time, night shift, with a minimum of 12 shifts per month and flexible scheduling. No call.
Compensation
$250,000 to $350,000 base salary, plus productivity incentives and a sign-on bonus.
What You'll Do:
You will admit and manage unassigned patients from the Emergency Department who need inpatient care, and provide overnight care and consultations for the inpatient medicine service. You will also manage patients in the hospital's Clinical Decision Unit.
For critically ill patients, you will admit and coordinate care with the intensivist team. Pulmonary and critical care coverage is available 24/7, so the role has no procedural requirements. Subspecialty consultants are available around the clock, and you will work alongside multidisciplinary teams across the inpatient service.
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency
Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, AOBIM, or AOBFP)
Active Alabama medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
Current DEA registration and Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate, or the ability to obtain both
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Ability to obtain hospital privileges
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior hospitalist or nocturnist experience
Experience working in a Clinical Decision Unit or observation unit
Experience in a trauma center or tertiary referral hospital
Interest in hospital medicine leadership roles
