PATTERN MAKER

Responsibilities: Prototype Development: Work closely with designers and product developers to build and modify physical mock-up sample frames for New Product Development. Pattern Creation: Develop highly accurate cutting patterns (fabric, leather, or poly) for upholstered furniture, ensuring a perfect fit for various cushion sizes and shapes. Digital & Software Operations: Digitize patterns and generate optimized cut markers (using software like Lectra or Morgan) to minimize material waste and improve fabric utilization. Documentation: Create and manage style numbers, part codes, and detailed specification (spec) sheets detailing the exact materials needed (springs, webbing, poly).Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting: Evaluate test samples for structural integrity and comfort, tweaking and adjusting patterns to make them production-friendly. Manufacturing Handoff: Train sewing, cutting, and upholstery associates on how to build and assemble new styles going into production.

Experience: Previous pattern-making experience, ideally in the furniture manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital pattern-making software (CAD) and freehand measurement. Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of wood construction, upholstery techniques, and how different fabrics or leathers stretch and behave. Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy in measuring, calculating dimensions, and reading blueprints. Collaboration: Strong communication skills to partner with cross-functional teams like Quality Control, and Production
