RemoteAbout UrgentIQUrgentIQ is a scaling healthcare technology startup serving same-day care. Our AI-native platform modernizes clinical, operational, and financial workflows for urgent care and adjacent settings. We aim to be a partner, not a vendor: we put long-term relationships ahead of short-term wins and operate with transparency and integrity, even when the answer is “no.”
Role Overview:
- The RCM Operations Specialist owns the revenue cycle performance of a dedicated book of 5–8 client accounts, primarily urgent care practices. Each client gets one accountable person who knows their numbers, understands their business, and catches problems before they grow.
- Most day-to-day work, including charge entry, coding, payment posting, and patient statements, runs through our AI-native, agentic workflows. You validate that work is moving correctly, resolve exceptions, step in hands-on when needed, and direct the supplemental resources assigned to your accounts.
- Success is measured by account financial performance and client retention. This is an ownership role, not a management-only position.
- What You’ll OwnAccount health: financial performance, operational stability, and client satisfaction across 5–8 clients
- Workflow oversight: validating that charges, coding, posting, and statements flow accurately and on time; monitoring queues, exceptions, and holds; and flagging patterns that need a rule or configuration change
- Resource direction: setting daily and weekly AR and denial priorities by dollar value, aging, and timely filing risk; reviewing quality and productivity; and escalating staffing concerns
- Denials and AR: analyzing denial trends by payer and CARC/RARC, driving root-cause fixes, and working aged AR to resolution
- Hands-on execution: complex denials, appeals, payer calls, and escalations as needed
- Client communication: serving as primary contact, leading performance reviews, and explaining trends in plain language
- Reporting: tracking account KPIs and bringing recommendations, not just data
- Implementation: partnering with the RCM Systems Specialist so new clients go live cleanly and hand off into steady state
- How You’ll Partner
- Head of RCM: Give early visibility into account risk, trends, and resourcing needs, and align on escalations and client decisions.
- RCM Systems Specialist: Shape configuration during implementation and take ownership at go-live with full context.
- Product & Engineering: Surface recurring issues and automation gaps, and help validate fixes in live client environments.
- Clients: Act as a trusted advisor, give honest performance updates, and help clients act on what they control, such as front-desk collection, documentation, and eligibility.
