APPLY NOW (opens in a new tab)A privately held consumer products group with a portfolio of growing brands is hiring a Senior Accountant. The brands sell both direct-to-consumer and wholesale. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. It fits someone with manufacturing and cost accounting experience who likes improving processes.
Responsibilities:
- Record, verify, and post journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses
- Reconcile subsidiary and balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare the trial balance, and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Prepare balance sheets, P&Ls, and other financial reports
- Support inventory accounting and standard costing, and analyze manufacturing variances
- Manage the payroll process
- Prepare audit schedules and work directly with the outside auditors
- Track fixed assets and record depreciation
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis for the eCommerce and wholesale channels
- Work with operations to improve inventory accuracy and cost-of-goods reporting
- Train and help manage staff accountants as the team grows
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field (master’s in accounting or MBA preferred)CPA strongly preferred 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and strong technical accounting skills
- Manufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting experience preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics or NetSuite experience a plus
