Electrical Power Engineer Wichita, KS AreaTarget Base: $130K + Profit Sharing Relocation Assistance Available If you’re an Electrical PE who wants to own the power design — not just one small piece of it — this one is worth a conversation. We’re partnering with an established engineering and technology company in the Wichita area that is adding an Electrical Power Engineer to its team. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role supporting complex industrial and process-plant projects. You’ll have meaningful ownership of the electrical scope from design through construction, along with the opportunity to get into the field and see your work operating in real facilities. WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY OWNThis is where the role gets interesting. You won’t be designing one small piece of a project and handing it off — you’ll have visibility and ownership across the electrical power scope. Own primary and low-voltage power distribution design for complex industrial projects Take electrical systems from concept through equipment specifications, layouts and final design Put your technical expertise to work on load-flow, fault and arc-flash studies Design grounding and lighting systems that have a real impact on operating facilities Work directly with utilities to solve service and power requirements Partner with vendors and procurement to select the right electrical equipment — not just specify it on paper Stay involved through construction and startup instead of watching your designs disappear after handoff Get into operating plants, troubleshoot real-world challenges and see the systems you helped design in action You’ll spend most of your time designing and engineering from the Wichita-area office, with approximately 30% travel giving you the chance to get into the field, support projects firsthand and see your work come to life. YOU MIGHT BE WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR IF…You’ve earned your Electrical PE — yep, this one really does require itYou have a BS in Electrical Engineering and 4–5+ years of hands-on power design experience Power distribution is your wheelhouse — you understand how the whole system works, not just your piece of itYou’re comfortable jumping into AutoCAD when the work calls for itYou actually like seeing what happens after the design leaves your desk Walking an industrial site sounds more interesting than spending every day in the same chair You’ve built some longevity in your career and are looking for a place where you can do the same again Bonus points if your experience comes from industrial, manufacturing, agricultural processing, chemical, food & beverage, energy or another process-heavy environment. You don’t need to check every “nice-to-have” box. But if you’re a licensed Electrical PE who knows industrial power design and wants more ownership of the work you’re doing, we should probably talk.
WHY THIS ONE?
Because good Electrical PE opportunities don’t always come with this much room to actually engineer.
You’ll own meaningful pieces of the power design, stay involved from concept through construction, work directly with utilities and vendors, and get into the field to see your work become something real.
And there’s more to like:
- An established company that’s continuing to invest, build and innovate
- Real project ownership without having to move into management
- A mix of design work and field exposure — approximately 30% travel
- Target base around $130K + profit sharing
- Strong benefits and relocation assistance for the right person
- A hiring team that is ready to move when they find their person
The search is already underway, and this isn’t a company that likes to drag candidates through a months-long interview process.
If you’re a licensed Electrical PE and you’ve been quietly wondering what else is out there, this might be the one worth raising your hand for.
