Moulder Operator

Job Summary: Local business seeking a skilled Moulder Operator to lead operations in a crucial division. Key Responsibilities: Set up, operate, and maintain moulders to produce precision-milled lumber products. Adjust cutting heads, feed speeds, and tooling to meet quality and production specifications. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company and customer requirements. Perform routine maintenance on the moulder and troubleshoot mechanical or performance issues. Train and mentor team members on machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards. Monitor workflow and coordinate with other departments to optimize production efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment. Track production metrics and machine performance, reporting any issues to management. Assist with tool changes and knife grinding as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience operating moulders or similar precision woodworking machines. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and technical drawings. Familiarity with different wood species, grain patterns, and proper cutting techniques. Experience with grinding, setting up, and maintaining knives for optimal cutting performance. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise others. Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures and general sawmill safety .Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in moulder operation. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
