Quality Technician Do you notice things other people miss? When something doesn't look right, are you the type of person who wants to figure out why? MasterMold is looking for hands-on Quality Technicians to join our Johnson Creek team on both 1st and 2nd shift. Quality here is more than inspecting a part and deciding whether it passes or fails. We want people who are curious, detail-oriented, willing to get involved, and interested in understanding the process behind the part. You won't spend your entire day sitting behind a desk reviewing reports. You'll be on the production floor working with operators, leads, supervisors, engineers, and other members of the Quality team to understand what is happening in real time. You don't need to walk in knowing everything. You do need to be willing to learn, ask questions, speak up when something doesn't look right, and take ownership of the quality of the work happening around you.
What You'll Do:
As a Quality Technician, you'll help protect product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality requirements.
Identify defects, inconsistencies, trends, and potential quality concerns.
Communicate quality issues promptly rather than allowing a known problem to continue through the process.
Work directly with Production, Engineering, and Quality to investigate problems and determine appropriate next steps.
Help troubleshoot defects and participate in root-cause investigations.
Use inspection tools, measurement equipment, and quality systems to evaluate products.
Accurately document inspection results and maintain required quality records.
Help determine whether problems are isolated issues or signs of a larger process concern.
Support corrective actions and follow up to ensure identified issues are addressed.
Participate in continuous-improvement efforts focused on reducing defects and improving consistency.
Reinforce quality expectations and help employees understand why those standards matter.
Support the development and improvement of quality procedures and processes.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone who:
Pays attention to details and notices when something doesn't look right.
Doesn't just identify a problem—they want to understand what caused it.
Is comfortable asking questions and respectfully challenging something when it doesn't make sense.
Takes ownership and follows through.
Is comfortable spending significant time on the production floor.
Can communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally.
Works effectively with employees at different levels of the organization.
Can balance attention to detail with the realities of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Is willing to learn new products, processes, equipment, and quality standards.
Understands that quality is everyone's responsibility and is willing to help reinforce that mindset.
What You'll Need:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in quality control, quality assurance, inspection, manufacturing, or a related environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic understanding of inspection methods and measurement tools.
Ability to accurately document information.
Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Experience matters, but so does your willingness to learn. If you have a strong manufacturing foundation, good attention to detail, and the drive to develop your quality knowledge, we want to hear from you.
Even Better If You HaveAn associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or other quality-related training.
Experience investigating defects or performing root-cause analysis.
Experience supporting corrective actions.
Experience working directly with production teams to resolve quality concerns.
These qualifications are helpful, but they aren't the only way to demonstrate that you can succeed in this position.
Available ShiftsWe are currently hiring Quality Technicians for both 1st and 2nd shift at our Johnson Creek facility. Candidates should indicate their preferred shift when applying. Specific schedules and shift expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
What Success Looks Like:
Success in this role isn't about finding the most defects. It's about helping prevent them. We want someone who learns the process well enough to recognize when something is changing, communicates concerns before they become bigger problems, and works with the team to understand why an issue happened in the first place. Over time, you should become someone Production and Quality can rely on—not simply to say that something is wrong, but to help determine what needs to happen next. Why MasterMold? Working for a smaller manufacturing company gives you the opportunity to see more, learn more, and have a visible impact. You won't be limited to one small piece of the process. You'll have opportunities to work with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and leadership while developing a broader understanding of how manufacturing works from beginning to end. If you have the drive to learn and grow, we want to give you the opportunity to do it.
What We Offer:
MasterMold offers a competitive benefits package designed to support our employees both at work and outside of it. Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and company-paid holidays; retirement savings opportunities; company-provided and voluntary benefit options; training and development; and opportunities for growth and advancement. Specific benefit eligibility and plan details will be discussed during the hiring process. Ready to Make an Impact? If you're curious, detail-oriented, willing to speak up, and want to understand how and why things happen—not just check a box—we'd like to hear from you. You don't have to know everything on day one. Bring the attention to detail, curiosity, and drive. We'll help you build the rest.
