Organizational Overview:
National Covenant Properties (NCP) is a $400 million church extension fund, which operates as a financial ministryaffiliate of The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) denomination. NCP provides investment products to members ofCovenant churches and offers lending and real estate services solutions to local congregations and affiliatedorganizations as they seek to expand their facilities and ministries. NCP is looking to add a new position of ChiefLending Officer to lead the underwriting, lending, loan portfolio management and the real estate consultinginitiatives to churches and other organizations affiliated with The Evangelical Covenant Church.

The Chief Lending Officer reports directly to the President of NCP and will partner with theexecutive management team to develop and implement the appropriate lending products and services. The ChiefLending Officer will lead and mentor the lending and real estate services team, oversee the lending businessdevelopment, the underwriting and credit analysis of loan applications, and the loan portfolio risk profile and loanmanagement efforts of NCP.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
A qualified candidate will be a seasoned member of the executive team advancing NCP’s mission within the policiesand procedures established by the Board of Directors and President of NCP. Critical and essential responsibilities ofthis role include:
- Engage with NCP President, the Relationship Management Team, regional Conference leadership, as well asCEOs and CFOs of affiliated Covenant entities on financial matters relating to real estate transactions and NCPfinancing.
- Participate in the development of the organization’s strategic plans and implementation of resulting initiativesand other assignment from the President of NCP.Collaborate with the President of NCP to align lending activities with the organization’s broader strategic goals. Serve as an advisor to the Board of Directors of NCP.Coach, lead, motivate, and mentor the relationship management team, fostering a positive environment andensuring a customer centric, high standard of service delivery while achieving the mission and loan growth andloan quality objectives of NCP.Actively participate in strategic relationship management with existing and prospective constituents. Collaborate with key stakeholders on approvals, strategy development and implementation and/or conceptdevelopment that improves or enhances NCP’s mission and positioning.
- Participate in marketing and communication efforts that increase awareness and engagement of churchconstituency with NCP investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with the executive management on developing and implementing sound and pertinent IT, technological and security programs and processes, cybersecurity initiatives, and internal controls.
- Provide guidance to congregations and individuals on the developments and preparation of NCP loanapplication packets. Gather, analyze, and interpret financial information for NCP leadership and keyconstituency.
- Deliver consultation to churches and their leadership on facility design, location searches and propertydevelopments including the review of leases, purchase or sale agreements or other real estate contracts. Monitor and advise on real estate trends and market analysis within the 11 regions NCP provides its services. Formulate reports, proposals, and additional presentations, as warranted to facilitate engagement ofstakeholders.

Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or accounting, or equivalent combination of educationand experience. At least ten (10) years of related banking and financial services experience, including managementof financial staff, extensive working knowledge of and/or involvement in banking, the commercial real estatelending field, financial analysis, and general management of financial investments. High proficiency in computerand internet technology. Expert knowledge and experience with standard and not-for-profit accounting principlesalong with a high level of customer service emphasis. As all investment products offered by NCP are legallyconsidered “securities,” the candidate must be able to hold a minimum of a Series 63 Securities License (or receivedwithin the first 90 days of employment).

Personal engagement with the Evangelical Covenant Church. Personal Skills and Characteristics Personal and demonstrated Christian faith. Personal membership in a Covenant church is strongly encouraged. Willingness to fully support the mission and ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church at the denominational, regional conference and local congregational levels, as well as affiliated entities and ministries.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with proven ability to lead complex organizations and experience managing anddeveloping high-performance team and driving growth in a changing environment. Effectively communicates in written and verbal forms in person and via communication mediums. Works well under pressure and is able to accurately accomplish multiple tasks, with conflicting priorities andtimelines. Ability to track and report progress on a wide range of tasks, queries, requests simultaneously.
- Uses critical thinking skills to exercise discretion and independent judgement, applying logic and reasoning toidentify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to addresschallenges. Self-starter and ability to work independently. - Mastery of Office 365 and other analytic tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft and Windows applications, CRM databases and management, and web technologies.
Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills are evident.
Excels in attention to detail with high level of accuracy in preparation of financial transactions, writtendocuments, reports, and correspondence. Good understanding of GAAP standards and practices.
A team player that ensures caring and excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
Ability to operate with discretion and confidentiality at all times, especially related to information security andaccount holder’s personal identifiable information.
Environment Conditions
Able to work well in professional office setting, occasionally work remotely as well as evenings and weekends.
Frequently travel domestically, up to 25-35%. Must be versatile and able to work for prolonged segments sitting orstanding. Must engage frequently with office tools and equipment, such as computers, copiers, phone, web conferencingequipment, cell communication, printers, calculators, scanners, etc. Must be able to occasionally liftor move items, less than 35 lbs.
