Job Title Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Travel) Location Galax, VA Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract 13 Weeks Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Rotating Weekends (Every Other) OnsiteKey Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 13-bed Emergency Department serving all age populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Assess, monitor, and manage patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, CHF, chest pain, stroke, DKA, and trauma Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 and utilize the Paragon EHR system for documentation Occasional float to the ICU as needed Adhere to all facility protocols, dress code requirements (blue or black scrubs), and department standards
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in the state of Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room and/or Critical Care experience
- Required certifications prior to start: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI/HWCExpected weekly hours: 36 hours
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement
- Preferred Experience / SkillsPrior travel nursing experience in an emergency department setting
- Familiarity with Paragon or similar EHR platforms
- Experience managing high-acuity trauma and critical care presentations
