Job Description:- Job Description Parts Runner / Shop Helper
- Michigan Diesel Service is a heavy-duty Class 8 truck repair shop looking for a dependable, motivated Parts Runner / Shop Helper to join our team.
- This is a hands-on position that supports our technicians and keeps the shop running efficiently. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working around heavy-duty trucks and shop equipment.
Responsibilities:- Pick up and deliver parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors
- Verify parts and orders for accuracy
- Load and unload parts and shop materials
- Assist technicians with moving trucks, parts, tools, and equipment
- Keep the shop, parking lot, and work areas clean and organized
- Help with basic shop maintenance and general cleanup
- Assist with inventory, stocking, and organizing parts
- Dispose of waste and used materials according to shop procedures
- Perform basic maintenance and miscellaneous shop tasks as needed
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional work environment
- Assist the technicians and service team with other duties as needed
Qualifications:- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Able to safely lift, carry, and move parts and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a busy repair-shop environment
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in a truck shop, automotive shop, warehouse, parts department, or similar environment is a plus, but willing to train the right person
