Role Summary: Buckeye Power Sales is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to support its Power & Construction Equipment rental operation in the Chicago market. This position focuses on mobile rental generators and temporary power, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, deployment, setup, teardown, and cabling. This is a hands-on position for a technician who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and keep rental power equipment ready for customers.

Key Responsibilities: Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mobile rental generators. Prepare generators and related equipment for customer rentals and deployment. Perform generator setups and teardowns at customer and jobsite locations. Run and connect temporary-power cabling and related equipment. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, and control-system issues. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rental generator equipment. Respond to changing customer needs and equipment requirements. Perform both field and shop-based service work. Inspect returned rental equipment and identify required repairs. Maintain accurate service and equipment documentation. Work independently and take ownership of assigned service calls and projects. Follow company safety procedures while servicing and deploying equipment.

Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of generator or directly related power-generation experience preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability. Experience servicing generators, engines, electrical equipment, or related systems. Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision. Self-motivated with strong initiative and willingness to learn. Comfortable working in a fast-moving rental and field-service environment. Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications: Generator rental or temporary-power experience. Experience with United Rentals, Sunbelt Rentals, Herc Rentals, or a similar rental operation. Diesel generator experience. Temporary-power cabling or distribution experience. Experience with generator controls and related electrical systems. Experience with Cummins, Generac, Rehlko/Kohler, Caterpillar/CAT, or similar generator equipment.

What Success Looks Like: Keeps rental generator equipment maintained and ready for deployment. Completes setups and teardowns safely and efficiently. Troubleshoots generator issues independently. Responds effectively to changing customer and operational needs. Maintains high equipment uptime and strong safety standards.
