Job Description
Position: Travel RN - PCU (636) - 7P-7AContract Length: 48 hours guaranteed preferred
Start Date: December 14
Location: Independence, Missouri
Unit:
Progressive Care UnitNumber of Beds: 36 Patient Ratios:1:3 AM1:4 AM or PM1:5 PM (with patient care techs available)
Staffing Overview:
Primarily total RN-based care
Limited tech support unless needed
Unit secretaries scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PMEquipment Utilized:
- BiPAPHeated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas
- Alaris IV pumps
- Kangaroo Feeding Pumps- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling
Requirements:
- FT Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotationPT Staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotationPRN Staff: Varied requirements based on shift commitment
- Floating Policies:
- PRN floats once per weekFT/PT staff float based on rotation and date
Patient
Experience:
- Bedside shift report
- Hourly rounding
- Daily leadership rounds
Required
Certifications: BLSACLSEssential
Skills:
- Advanced assessment capabilities
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Management of vasoactive drips
- Typical Procedures Performed:
- Central Line or PICC line placement
- Chest tube placements
