Laser Welder / Fabricator
Location: Black Mountain, NC
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday)

We are seeking a skilled Laser Welder / Fabricator to join our team in Black Mountain, NC. This role focuses on precision laser welding and fabrication of thin-gauge stainless steel used in specialized laboratory refrigeration and climate-control systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, clean welds, and advanced welding technology in a low-volume, high-detail manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform laser welding on thin-gauge stainless steel (22–16 gauge) with high precision and minimal distortion
- Set up and operate laser welding equipment, adjusting parameters to meet material and quality requirements
- Cut, fit, and fabricate stainless steel components to exact specifications
- Assist with light fabrication tasks, including fitting, alignment, and assembly
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure quality, consistency, and dimensional accuracy
- Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify tolerances
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues or inconsistencies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support additional production tasks as needed
Qualifications:- Minimum 1 year of welding experience (laser welding preferred; TIG experience transferable)
- Experience working with thin-gauge stainless steel preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and basic math skills
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new welding technologies
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs (with assistance)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Forklift experience is a plus
