Job Details:
- MS/Tele unit setting with float requirements within skillset and acuity,
- Patient ratio of 1:6,
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours,
- Every other weekend required,
- Holidays required as needed,
- No on-call responsibilities,
- Cerner charting system experience required, Job Requirements
- Active compact RN license or MD state license required,
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required,
- ACLS certification preferred,
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years,
- Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment,
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms,
- Previous charge experience preferred,
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care,
- Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation,
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols required,
- Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury,
- Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience required,
- Experience with telemetry, cardiovascular, and post-MI patient care required, Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiovascular, renal, orthopedic, and plastics cases,
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility,
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate,
- Driver's license must match candidate address to confirm local status,
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract,
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment,
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
