Piano Music Teacher

Music and Arts seeks a Piano Teacher to provide high-quality private and small-group lessons in our retail lesson studio. In this role, you’ll teach students of all ages and skill levels, focusing on piano technique, music reading, theory, and performance skills while fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment. You will design tailored lesson plans, track student progress, prepare students for recitals and school performances, and communicate regularly with parents and store staff. As part of a collaborative, student-focused culture, you’ll help promote music education, support lesson enrollment, and recommend appropriate instruments, books, and accessories. This part-time, on-site role is ideal for pianists passionate about teaching and community engagement. Provide private and small-group piano lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels Develop individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and Music and Arts standards Teach music reading, technique, theory, and performance skills on piano Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances Track and communicate student progress with parents, students, and store staff Collaborate with store team to support lesson enrollment and retention Maintain a punctual, professional lesson schedule within the retail location Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment Recommend appropriate instruments, method books, and accessories to support learning Follow company policies for safety, scheduling, and student communication Piano performance Music theory Sight-reading Ear training Lesson planning Classroom/lesson management Student assessment and progress tracking Recital and performance preparation Basic sales of music products and accessories Communication with parents and students Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Formal piano performance or music education training Teaching credential or state music educator license preferred Background in music theory and ear training Experience preparing students for recitals, auditions, or exams Ability to pass background check for working with minors
