The Role:
We're seeking a full-time Legal Billing Specialist to join our client's high-volume Billing Department in Uniondale. You'll own timely, accurate, and guideline-compliant invoicing for a large portfolio of insurance defense matters.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and process monthly and quarterly client invoices
- Review client and carrier billing guidelines and make sure every invoice complies
- Submit and monitor e-billed invoices; resolve rejections, reductions, and discrepancies quickly
- Research and resolve billing issues in partnership with partners, legal assistants, and billing staff
- Track delayed payments and follow up with clients
- Handle client/matter setup and troubleshoot time entry issues in e-billing platforms
- What You Bring
- Required 2+ years of billing experience
- Working knowledge of billing processes: invoice formatting, timekeeper allocations, paperless workflows
- Hands-on experience with electronic billing platforms
- Basic proficiency in Excel and Word
- Accuracy and speed under deadline pressure
- Strong communication skills with attorneys, staff, and client contacts
- Availability for extended hours during billing cycles
- PreferredLaw firm billing experience (highly preferred)
- Experience with legal time & billing software
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Compensation & Benefits:
$55,000$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, friendly team.
