Heritage Arts Ceramics Lab Assistant

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours weeklyJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Lab Assistant’s primary function is to fire kiln loads of pottery, mix glazes, and clean and organize the lab as needed. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for selling clay, mixing of glazes, and providing technical assist as needed during scheduled hours. Kiln operation, including loading, unloading, and programming kilns Mixing of glazes, slips, and stains Reclaiming clay in a pug mill Clean and organize studio, kiln room, glaze lab Expected to work Fridays weeklyMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBasic knowledge of ceramics required Preferred Master Potters Certificate, Associates in Fine Art, or higher Competent with hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment Must be able to lift 50lbs
